Though one is hard pressed to find a blacksmith pounding red hot steel with hand tools; the principles remain the same. The two methods most commonly used today are fabricating and forging.

From the Floor - Heavy Cylinder Processing

When it comes to thick plate rolling, AT&F has you covered. If you've been following the blog, you'll remember a while ago when we posted photos of thick wall cylinder rolling. This is another one in the set of cylinders being prepared to ship to the customer to assemble a huge pressure vessel to produce low-calorie sweetener. This cylinder is unique because it is mostly comprised of standard carbon steel with a 1/4″ thick layer of 304 Stainless Steel cladding. Due to weight, the customer chose to ship the large cylinders one at a time and weld them in the field.

Heavy Plate Rolling Fabricator AT&F Announces Equipment Upgrades


CLEVELAND, Ohio – November 12, 2012 – AT&F, a custom
steel fabricator in Cleveland, Ohio announces equipment upgrades to one of its large rolling systems.  Originally installed in 1977, the company has fabricated thousands of cylinders for AT&F customers.  After 35 years of service, the large heavy plate rolling machine has undergone a major upgrade.

AT&F Launches Large scale Welding & Fabrication Operations in Mumbai

AT&F, a large scale welding and heavy steel fabricating company, based in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, has launched its operation, AT&F India Fabrication Pvt. Ltd., in Mumbai. AT&F India's Mumbai based manufacturing capabilities include 13,000 square meters of fabrication facilities with 50 tonne lifting capacity providing heavy plate cutting, rolling and welding to exacting standards.
