Large CNC Machining – Horizontal Boring Mill Service

 
CLEVELAND, OHIO – August 21, 2012 - A CNC horizontal boring mill is the newest testament to AT&F’s commitment “We Invest In Customer Success™.”  Performing all functions of machining – milling, boring, drilling, and threading – the boring mill brings turnkey services to AT&F customers.

President Mike Ripich overlooks the new CNC Horizontal Boring Mill installed at the AT&F main campus in Cleveland, Ohio. Standing 15’ tall, the large CNC machine has a 100-ton rotary table and floor plate capacity.  Capabilities include a 40’ X-axis x 15’ Y-axis x 6’ Z-axis travel, 7” spindle, and ability to handle up to 15’ diameter cylinders.The new machining services are a welcomed addition to the steel fabrication capabilities offered by AT&F.
“Our customers require highly precise fabrications ready for assembly.  The new boring mill combined with the long forming, heavy rolling, and a full range of welding services allows us to provide large precision-machined components including special machined parts ready for assembly, J grooves, prepped and special beveled ends, and bored holes,” states Ken Ripich, AT&F Executive Vice President. Ripich continues, “The 360-degree table rotation allows for one set up, saving hours of fabrication time. The machine is housed alongside the largest rolls and in a facility that has 100-ton lift capacity, 25’ doors and rail siding access, enabling us to fabricate, machine and ship components all from one location. We are excited to add this service to our capabilities to better serve our customers.”
